It's Ready Steady Cook every day for chef Wayne
Chef Wayne Hinton at local charity A4U says, “It’s like Ready Steady Cook everyday! I never know what the Food Hub are going to bring us, but we can always make something delicious with it. One day there will be loads of butternut squash for soup, stew, mash or roasted veg, the next day bread for bread and butter pudding.”
A4U provides independent and impartial information, advice, legal advice and advocacy on all aspects of disability issues including benefits advice for people with disabilities. They are also the lead organisation for Shropshire Autism Hub providing support for adults over 18. They started up the café at Louise House to provide affordable hot and cold food to building users, including members of the Shropshire Autism Hub, Age UK lunch clubs and NHS patients, as well as being a comfortable, safe and friendly place for anyone to visit, so do pop in and try Wayne’s delicious cooking for yourself. The café is open to the public from 9.30 to 2.30 Monday to Thursday and 10.30 to 2.30 on Fridays .
Fiona Williams, manager of A4U explains, “It has been a huge benefit for us and helped with broadening the range of foods we are able to offer from a small start-up cafe. We are now able to offer a greater variety of more interesting and healthier food. We keep our costs as low as possible so that our prices are manageable for people with limited budgets and so any reduction in cost for us is significant. “
