Food rescue

Every morning our volunteers collect from 22 suppliers

We collect fruit, veg, bread and store cupboard food which they have left over

It’s like food roulette - one day it will be 30 trays of bread, the next 30 of fruit and veg
In 3 years we have

Saved 110 tonnes of food - enough for 262000 meals

Built a team of 105 regular volunteers

Saved CO2 equivalent to driving 56 times around the world
Where does rescued food go?

Any non-profit group or charity can receive food from the Food Hub

We share food with 56 groups, reaching more than 2000 people in the town every week

Our groups save an average of 34% of their food budget
In the next 3 years we plan to

Work with local farmers and wholesalers to save more fresh fruit, veg and eggs

Save more nutritious chilled and frozen food

Co-ordinate the Shropshire Food Poverty Alliance
