Thursday shines!

We love our young volunteers, and our latest addition is no exception! Over two weeks of the summer holidays, we were thrilled to welcome Thursday to the Food Hub Family for a work experience placement.

From peeling and chopping to gleaning, sorting, packing, and cleaning, Thursday jumped into every activity with enthusiasm and care. Their energy, patience, and willingness to learn made a real impact, and we’ve absolutely loved having them on board.

Over the two weeks we saw Thursday blossom and gain in confidence. It was fabulous to see.

Thank you, Thursday, for being such a brilliant part of our team. We hope you’ve gained valuable experience and enjoyed your time with us as much as we’ve enjoyed having you. You’re welcome back anytime

Did you know?

We have many young volunteers at the Food Hub, some join us for work experience, and others come along every weekend to lend a hand. We’re lucky to have dedicated volunteers who started with us for just a week or two and are still coming back two years later!

We benefit hugely from young people’s views, their energy, and their passion for the future of the environment. Their fresh perspectives and drive help shape the way we work and inspire us all.

Would you or your young person like to get involved? You’ll be surrounded by a gang of supportive fellow volunteers, with drinks and cakes guaranteed and plenty of banter and chatting to wash it all down.
