Fundraising Wins!

We’re thrilled to share the incredible efforts of our staff and volunteers who recently took on a 20-mile walking challenge to raise funds for Shrewsbury Food Hub. Their determination and community spirit helped raise an amazing£2,200, a huge boost to our work redistributing surplus food and reducing food waste.

The challenge saw a dedicated group of Food Hub staff, volunteers, friends, family and four-legged pals, walking together around Shrewsbury. Some of the group dressed up as fruit and veg, turning heads and winning smiles along the route, raising awareness and funds with every step.

Camilla, one of our volunteers, said “It was great to discover parts of Shrewsbury and areas I hadn’t been to and get to know other Food Hubbers on the way round, a lovely event with a friendly bunch for a great cause. The sore feet at the end were worth it!”

We’re so proud of their achievement and grateful to everyone who took part, donated and cheered them on!

Our fundraising team continue to be busy with collections at theMarket Hallbringing in around£600this financial year. Thank you to all the shoppers who supported us. Special thanks also go to our car boot coordination extraordinaire, Ann, whose car boot sales have raisedover £1,000since April.

These events are great fun and a fantastic way to connect with the community and spread the word about our mission.

Every penny helps us rescue good food from going to waste and get it to where it’s needed most. We couldn’t do it without our amazing volunteers and donors, thank you!
