Soupersonic has been a huge success again this season and is now part of our extended community kitchen project. With the help of Steve @thehungryguy we have chopped, chatted and cooked soup, mashed potato, apple crumble and bread and butter pudding. The results have been frozen and distributed via our community group network.

We were able to expand what we do with funding from UKSPF (Government’s UK Shared Prosperity Fund) delivered locally by Shropshire County Council. This important additional funding has enabled us to offer cooking and skills workshops in addition to our chop and chat soupersonic sessions.

What difference does this make to food waste and the community?

Good surplus food, often what we call at the hub “veg on the edge” is saved from the bin

Community projects and groups around Shrewsbury benefit from homemade soup, social connection, new skills and reduced food bills.
