For food emergency support, visit Shropshire Larder

Did you know that 75% of the food we rescue and distribute goes directly and indirectly to children and families? It’s a statistic that speaks volumes about the heart of our mission, supporting those who need it most while preventing good food from going to waste.

Our vans are out every week, delivering to over 80 community groups, a vibrant mix of charities, support organisations, local authority teams, and members of the public. In Shrewsbury alone, we supply food to charities that support people facing mental health challenges, disabilities, and homelessness. These partnerships ensure that food reaches those who might otherwise go without.

We’re proud to enable school breakfast clubs, nurseries, and playgroups to offer children healthy and often fun food options. We also support young carers and leaving care teams, helping ensure that young people navigating difficult transitions have access to nourishing meals.

But our reach doesn’t stop there. Some of our lesser-known recipients include refugees, migrant support groups, and youth organisations. We even deliver to Scout troops and LEGO building clubs, helping to fuel creativity and community spirit.

During the school holidays, when some regular groups take a break, we shift our focus to holiday clubs, sports coaching sessions, and local events, ensuring that children and families have access to food throughout the year.

Even our weekly Foodshares help families who quietly benefit from our support. While we work to reduce food waste and keep it out of landfill, we’re also helping often vulnerable members of our community save money and stay nourished.

Every delivery tells a story of care, connection, and community. We owe all of it to our  dedicated supporters, volunteers and staff. Thank you for being part of it.
