Share your spare garden produce
Do you grow your own fruit and veg? Could you help get us more fruit and veg by sharing an extra you have with the Hub? Please get in touch if you'd like to find out more or come to our meeting on Tuesday 4th June at University Centre Shrewsbury at 7pm.
Sutton Lane and Greenfields Allotments already share their spare produce with us. They donate any spare fruit and veg on a Sunday evening. Someone drops it off at a "drop off point" where its taken up to the Hub depot to share. It's really easy to set up. Here's a guide from Nicola at Sutton Farm.
The Hub supports 56 community groups with free food and there's never enough fruit and veg, so anything you can spare will help people have healthy food right across town.
We are looking for growers who can commit to sharing their produce, as well as people who could act as a drop off point for produce. This would mean having a porch or food-safe area where gardeners can drop produce on a Sunday evening and then bringing it to our depot off the Whitchurch Road bright and early on a Monday morning (7.30 - 8.30 am) . We already have a drop off point in Meole, but it would be good to have more.
Please get in touch with Pippa through our contact form here and find out more at our meeting at the University centre, Frankwell at 7pm on Tuesday 4th June.
