We’re excited to introduce Ben, our new Food Hub Redistribution Manager at Shrewsbury Food Hub!

The redistribution manager role is central to the hub’s operation.  It oversees the complete harvesting and supply operation, ensuring the depot runs smoothly, coordinating logistics, and supporting our incredible volunteers. With a background that includes co-owning a whole foods business in Shrewsbury Market Hall, Ben brings valuable experience and a deep connection to the local food community.

Ben  jumped at the opportunity to join the Food Hub after spotting the job advert and being driven by his passion for reducing food waste. In his short time with us, he’s already been struck by the scale of the operation, the dedication of the volunteers, and the team spirit that shines through, especially during a food rescue, when everyone pulls together to make it happen.

Ben describes the hub in three words: Fun. Rewarding. Impressive!

Outside of work, Ben is a keen rugby fan, plays a multitude of musical instruments, and even trained as a chef.  With his experience we’re sure he’ll bring creativity and energy to his role at the Hub.

He’s looking forward to learning even more about the hub and continuing to make a difference. Welcome aboard, Ben, we’re thrilled to have you!
