Could your organisation put good food to good use?
If you are a charity, group, school, or any not for profit organisation based in or around Shrewsbury and you provide food for members of our community, you could be a food hub member and receive food donations from the Shrewsbury Food Hub.
We never know what will be available, but we will do our best to match whatever there is to your unique requirements. Our 100 volunteers collect from 15 stores every weekday. Some days we get 15 trays of food, sometimes 90. We collect bread, rolls, pastries, fruit, veg and store cupboard food and share it between our groups. We're also running a pilot to collect chilled food including milk, meat and ready meals.
We have 56 members including The Severn Hospice, Shrewsbury Ark, Food Bank plus, Shropshire Mind, Shropshire Youth Association and 11 school breakfast clubs. Our members receive free food from one day to three days a week, saving them money and increasing the range of food they can provide.
We will get back to your as soon as we can, but it may take a couple of weeks to get your request up and running!
If you are interested in regularly collecting and using food on a Saturday please see our blogpost and get in touch!
