We're hiring! Could you help grow our food supply?
We are delighted to have been awarded £35k by WRAP from the Defra Resource Action Fund to prevent food waste. This will allow us to install a walk-in chiller and recruit a project officer to help us get more surplus food for our community. Click here for full details of the new post.
At the moment, we collect food from 20 stores every weekday. This project will allow us to extend our reach to food manufacturers, wholesalers and farms. We are on target to collect 70 tonnes of food this year, enough for 168,000 meals. We know there is lots more surplus food out there and this project will allow us to unlock it for community groups in Shrewsbury. We’re recruiting an assistant project manager to help get this work off the ground.
We are looking a friendly, well-organised person to manage our growth project. You will build our volunteer teams to increase our supply of fruit, veg, eggs and chilled food for community groups. Please see all the details of the job and how to apply here. The deadline for submissions is 19th March 2020.
